The King’s Head isn’t just a pub—it’s the heart of our village. As a community-owned landmark, we aren't answering to a distant head office; we answer to our customers and neighbours. We are looking for a passionate, committed and talented Pub Chef to join our team and help us turn this beautiful, historic, traditional pub into a true food-lover's destination.
WE WANT A REALLY GREAT PUB CHEF
We aren’t looking for someone obsessed with fine dining. We want someone who understands the magic of a perfectly executed classic. Someone who gets excited about:
The Ultimate Sunday Roast: We want to be famous for this British food tradition. Think crispy-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside roasties, quality local meats, perfectly cooked veg and real homemade gravy.
Plates That Please: Creating a core menu of outstanding traditional home-cooked classics, freshly prepared daily specials and dishes for events and theme nights that give people a reason to keep coming back again and again.
Local Pride: Working directly with local farmers, suppliers and producers to showcase the very best the area has to offer.
Sustainability: Designing menus that respect the seasons, the locality and minimise waste.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
This is a rare opportunity to make this kitchen your own. You’ll have the creative freedom to shape the menu, build a supportive team from the ground up, and see the direct impact of your work on the happy faces of our customers. We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable & grounded: You take pride in a clean, organised happy kitchen, and aim to achieve excellent reviews.
Ambitious: You want to build our reputation as the place to eat incredible pub food that's also fantastic value.
Community-minded: You enjoy the "well done" from a local regular as much as a great review online.
THE DETAILS
Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience).
Support: You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Pub Manager and Board of Directors who are fully invested in your success.
Environment: A friendly, and exciting place to work with a community-focus where your voice is actually heard.
